SEMICON West

SEMICON West is the semiconductor equipment and materials show, and for an electrical engineer the interesting half is usually the facility rather than the wafer. Fab power distribution, UPS and backup topology, cleanroom electrical infrastructure, and the load growth that AI silicon demand is putting on new fabs all appear in the programme.

Worth the trip if you work on fab construction, facilities engineering at a fab site, or supply equipment into one. Less useful if your work is grid-side: the vocabulary here is process and tooling, and the power content sits underneath it rather than on the main stage.

At Moscone Center in San Francisco for this edition, after the show has moved around in recent years. Check the venue on the official site rather than assuming it matches the last one you attended.
