IEEE PES General Meeting

The PES General Meeting is the research end of power systems rather than a trade show. Papers cover transmission planning, stability and dynamics, protection, machine learning applied to grid operations, and the modelling work behind interconnection studies.

The right meeting if your job involves the analysis behind a decision rather than the equipment that implements it: planning engineers, protection engineers writing settings philosophy, and anyone in an interconnection queue. Committee meetings run alongside the technical sessions, and they are where the standards that will constrain your designs in five years are argued out.

Less useful if you came to compare products. The exhibit floor is small next to DISTRIBUTECH's, and that is by design.
