PCIC is the IEEE conference for electrical engineering in petroleum, chemical and heavy process industries, and its distinguishing feature is that papers are written by practising engineers about installations they worked on. Hazardous area classification, motors and large drives, arc flash, grounding and reliability in continuous-process plant are the recurring subjects.

The right meeting if you work in or supply refineries, chemical plants, LNG or similar facilities. Much of what is discussed, particularly area classification practice, motor protection and safe maintenance of energised plant, transfers directly to any industrial site with a serious process hazard.

Atlanta this year. Papers rather than product launches, and a long-standing convention that authors take questions properly, so come with the problem you are actually stuck on.
