APEC is the power electronics meeting: converters, inverters, magnetics, drives, and the wide-bandgap devices that have been rewriting the design space for a decade. It sits unusually evenly between industry and academia, so a session on gate-drive practice can be followed by one on a topology nobody has shipped yet.

The professional education seminars on the front days are what practising engineers get the most from. They are taught rather than presented, and they go deep on thermal design, EMI and magnetics, which are hard to learn from papers alone. The exhibit floor is components rather than systems: devices, cores, capacitors, test gear.
